Would you benefit from some extra support in managing your eating disorder?

Do you feel like the people in your life don't really understand how hard it is to manage an eating disorder, or do you just not have people in your life who know you have an eating disorder?

Are you surrounded by people who think support is suggesting or encouraging workouts, diets, and cleanses for weight loss?

Or maybe you have good support, but you want to talk with people who you will just "get it" with no explanation?

Perhaps you have been a part of group counseling in the past, so you already know how valuable peer support is for you in recovery?

The "Eating Disorder Recovery Group" provides extra support from people who can identify with what you're experiencing which will help alleviate loneliness and hopelessness.

This group is for adults who have been diagnosed with an eating disorder by a healthcare professional and are wanting to connect with other people who are recovery-focused.

GROUP PARTICIPANTS WILL:

  • Be supported in processing the guilt, fear, frustration and anxiety which comes with practicing normalized eating.
  • Receive peer support in discussing urges to restrict food intake, binge eat, purge, and/or overexercise.
  • Gain self-confidence in being able to challenge problems of comparisons, body dissatisfaction, and fear of judgment from others,
  • Learn to make wise choices to manage your eating disorder rather than trying to “tough it out”.
  • Increase/maintain motivation for eating disorder recovery.
